Casper is an albino 3-year-old boy. He is one of Shelter Mom’s permanent foster kids. Casper had both of his adrenal glands removed and has to have daily predisone to keep him healthy. He also has to get a Precorten shot every month. He can't have any sugary treats, but he loves to have FerreTone to wash down that icky pred taste. In spite of his medication-filled life, Casper is a very peaceful and strong ferret.

When Casper first came to the shelter, he was almost completely bald and had trouble getting around. (Compare the second picture, which was taken in June of 2008, to the first one, which was taken in October of 2008, after his surgery.) He has really come a very long way. All of his fur grew back, and it is now very long and soft as well as being very white instead of yellow. He has improved his mobility greatly. He has also bonded with several other ferrets, and has learned to become more social. He is more affectionate now and is very sweet.

Casper lives with Sushi, a sweet and shy dark sable. Sushi is in love with Casper and really gets upset if she is separated from him. Sushi doesn’t have to have any medications. However, she is afraid of ferrets that are bullies, and she relies on Casper to keep her calm and protected.
