News Thank You to Tara Radford for the Online Fundraiser Auction Tara Radford saw our shelter suffering, and she took matters into her own hands. She single-handedly organized a huge auction for us in the beginning of December, gathering more than a hundred donations from people around the United States for our first ever Online Auction. I wasn't involved, but I know how much effort goes in to even a small event. This was a huge undertaking with many many donors and items. I can only imagine how many hours she must have put in. The sheer volume of planning and organization must have been exhausting. I don't even know how she did it. Well, I know she had help from Amereta Julian, who is an expert in creating and organizing these things and executing them online. But even with that help, Tara must have been swamped with things to do for weeks -- calling, asking, keeping everything straight. So, even though Tara did most of her work behind the scenes, Chris and I still want Tara to know how much we appreciate what she did for us. We are very grateful that she stepped up and took on this huge project and helped out the shelter ferrets. Click here to see more information about the auction. We're up on Facebook! See it here! Surgical Suite is Open Our long-awaited surgical suite is now open! We are doing spays and neuters on-site, with the help of our veterinarian and staff. Events January 2012 Friends of Ferrets Meeting When: Saturday, January 14th Time: 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Where: The Oregon Ferret Shelter, 17560 S Holly Lane, Oregon City, OR 97045, Telephone: (503) 557-8369 Come help us ring in the New Year with our first meeting of 2012! We'll be discussing what we would like to accomplish in this coming year in the areas of outreaches, fundraisers, and anything else ferret-related we can come up with. Also, we're having a special event. We're putting together a box of ferret goods for Susan Hayes of Arkansas Ferret Rescue 4 Hospice and Special Needs. Seems she got some bad treatment from some unscrupulous person. We're trying to do a little good for her and for the rescue ferrets she cares for. So bring some ferret-related goodies to send Susan: bedding, treats, gift cards, or a good old-fashioned check. Then there will be a potluck dinner. Guests should bring an entree dish if they are coming alone, or if there are two or more in the party, bring an entree dish and a salad or dessert. As usual, there will be a raffle to raise money so the ferrets can eat too! And healthy ferrets are welcome to join the play group. If you have any questions, please call Dave or Chris at (503) 557-8369. The public is welcome. All you need to have is a love for ferrets. We meet the second Saturday of every month, and we'd love to get some new members. So come on by!
